Why this, why now?
When your daughter outgrows her cheer gear every six months, you start doing the math. Training fees, travel, competition costs—and then add another few hundred dollars per season just to replace practice wear she's grown out of or worn through.
For cheer parents, it gets worse: the top brands your daughter wants to wear are based in the US, which means exchange rates, duties, and now tariffs pushes a high quality $78 USD sports bra past $140 CAD before it even arrives!
We knew there had to be a better way.
Our Story
Hit Zero Athletics started because we lived this problem. I'm Scott, and my daughters Lily (11) and Evelyn (13) are all-star competitive cheerleaders. They're fanatical about the sport—the gym is their happy place, and their teammates are family. But finding practice wear that could stand up to daily wash and wear without emptying our bank account? Nearly impossible.
The options were limited: pay premium prices for US brands and deal with cross-border costs, settle for activewear that doesn't hold up to the demands of tumbling and stunting, or buy cheaper dance wear that falls apart after a few washes. None of these worked for athletes who train hard and deserve gear that performs.
So we decided to build it ourselves. Evelyn took on the role of Chief Product Officer—and she's been ruthless. Early designs that didn't meet her standards? Killed immediately. If it won't survive a full practice, a basket toss, or the washing machine, it doesn't make it to production.
Hit Zero Athletics exists to fill the gap we saw: high-quality, Canadian-made cheer practice wear designed specifically for youth female athletes (ages 8-18).
We make practice wear that stands out on the mat and stands up to the wear and tear of weekly training. No duties, no surprises, no compromise.
